I was shocked at the criticism directed at Apple for killing podcatching software in this weeks TWiT. I do agree that they could have been more sympathetic to the existing tags the fact that Apple has supported podcasting and RSS can only be a good thing. Not only does it link to one of the most popular devices at this time - but it really does make Podcasting accessible to the masses.

I am sure they would also have received criticism had they not supported it - so how can they win!

It is always hard for products to exist once a credible free solution arrives on the scene - but with the technical elegance and simplicity of RSS and enclosures it really must have been a trivial task to add the feature to the iTunes client.
